Google and Bing are among the top choices of search engine services for users right now. However, Microsoft’s product still falls short of its giant competitor as many consumers still prefer to use Google.

Right now, the last most searched word in Bing is actually the name of its giant rival. This detail was even confirmed after Google appealed an action brought by the European Union.

The lawsuit, which costs $5 billion, was filed after the tech giant was accused of abusing its market power.

“We have presented evidence showing that the most common search query on Bing is, by far, ‘Google,'” Google’s lawyer said during his session before the EU General Court.

Google says people choose it themselves

According to BBC News‘ latest report, Google’s lawyer said consumers prefer to use the company’s search engine service because they want to.

He clarified that Google is not forcing users around the world to choose it over Microsoft’s Bing. At present, Google’s market share in general search is very strong.

The search engine giant is currently consistent with consumer surveys, revealing that 95% of internet users across the world prefer their service over Bing and other competing companies.

Is Google really better than Bing?

The financial express reported that if a user searched for the word “Google”, they would get over 14 billion results in less than a second.

Besides having the most searchers on the internet, Google also has more basic functionality than Bing. It allows users to search for books, flights, finance, and scholarly literature, which are not currently available on Bing.

Currently, Google, Bing and Yahoo are the most widely used search engines on the market.

However, some companies are trying to improve their own services to compete with these giant companies. These include Brave, which is considered a safer search engine than Google.
