Hollywood movie ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ has broken numerous box office records, is one of the most popular films on a number of streaming platforms and has led to the highest search trend for ‘Becoming a Pilot’ and “Become a fighter pilot”. ‘ over the past two decades (revised data to 2004).

The increase in interest is being picked up by a number of pilot training organizations including;
- Irish Flight School launches online cinematic marketing campaign with Top Gun film
- US Air Force – Maj. Gen. Edward W. Thomas, commander of the Air Force’s recruiting department, told Fox News the military will use Top Gun: Maverick to boost recruiting. A similar phenomenon was observed when Top Gun was first released during the Cold War. “We had a good recruiting bump with ‘Top Gun’ in 1986 when I went to the movies and saw ‘Top Gun’ with my friends in 1986,” Thomas said. “I was already excited about military aviation, but I was even more so. We expect ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ to do the same,” he added. people want to aim high or fly in the Navy, we just want them to be excited to serve the nation in some capacity.”
